Copy Cat

Ardan is great at putting on his Croc shoes and does so often, even just to run around the house.  He also loves to brush his teeth, but since he can't reach the sink he goes to turn on the bathtub faucet to rinse his toothbrush and spit.  Hehe it seems to silly him doing these things just because he is watching me, but so awseome how he is learning!

Grandma D.D.'s Visit

We had a great time while DD was visiting.  It was nice to have the extra help and buddy for Ardan since Greg is down under the Australia for work.

 We went to the river in front of the Children's Museum and the WET Science center.

 We had fun just clowning around the house. 

When it's time to go outside Ardan knows to get his shoes...well maybe not his shoes but someone shoes.  He is getting good at putting shoes on by himself.

 We spent an afternoon in Seattle and went to The Great Wheel, had lunch at The Sourdough Bakery and enjoyed the Seattle sunshine.

Crib Training

The hair says it all...it was a rough night of crib/sleeping training for Ardan (and Mommy) who slept on the floor of his room to aid in the transition.

Pipers on a Rainy Day

It was a rainy day here in WA so Ardan and I took DD to Piper's Playground.  We had fun on the Sit & Spin, slide, and shooting basketball.

Ardan's First VA Trip

We had a great trip to Virginia last week and were so excited to see friends and family.  Ardan did great on the flight there and was reluctant to leave all of his new friends he played with while in Virginia, but he did miss his puppies at home.

I took Ardan to my old hair dresser for his first "official" hair cut.

We played at the pool with Allison, Kaitlyn and Nancy for Smith/Johnson day.  Kathryn even stopped by to meet Ardan!  We were in the pool for 2 hours swimming around and Ardan would have stayed all day if Mommy had let him, we have a great time.

 Swinging and playing in the sand box at Papa Sam's and DD's was so fun.  He also helped Papa Sam water the flowers, just like he helps Mommy at home water them.

 We went to the new local park to play.

 And Ardan did some housework...even finding the pots and pans Mommy and Uncle Evan played with when they were babies.

 Ardan's Great Aunt Dottie and Uncle Lee came down for the weekend and we all went to Young Farmer's Day and the local Farmer's Museum where Papa Sam volunteers.  It was fun playing the the dirt, riding on tractors and playing with chicken.

 

We had a retirement party for DD and Ardan slept through most of it, but did finally wake up to play with Colt before he left.

 It was so good to see Uncle Evan.  We all went to Westmoreland State Park and Stratford Hall on Monday to play in the Potomac River and hunt for sharks teeth.  We found some (well Papa Sam and Mommy did).

 Ardan and Papa Sam had fun playing in the airport before we left.  DD was able to come back to WA with us for the week to play.  Papa Sam called the day after we got back and complained that he didn't have anyone to play with :(

17 months old

Ardan is 17 months old today. He is about 24 pounds and 33 3/4 inches tall.  Some of his new favorite words are "Ack" "Oh No" and "Up" while pointing up at the sky for birds.

The "No" phase

We have definitely been in the saying "no" phase the last month. "Oh no", "no", and head shaking are part of Ardan's routine. I get the occasional "yep" out of him. Let's hope this doesn't last into and through his 2's.

We are having a great time in VA. Ardan mainly wants to play outside in the sandbox, basketball, or water.  DD has lots of hummingbirds Ardan has enjoyed watching and today we are going to check out Young Farmer Day with Papa Sam at the local Farm Museum.

Height Doesn't Matter

Ardan definitely knows to work around his toddler size with chairs, as evident in the refrigerator water dispenser post.  he pushed the bar stool out of the way so he could use the kitchen chair to reach the computer/watch me make lunch today.

We are all packed to take Ardan's first trip to Virginia tomorrow!
