Hunting for Treasure

Ardan got Mommy a metal detector for Christmas!  He knows how much Mommy loves treasure.  He was excited to give this gift so we can hunt for treasure together (so it seems to be a gift for him as well).  We took it for a spin in the back yard and got a few pings on the radar.  Unfortunately, the ground is pretty frozen these days.

Christmas 2016

We had such a wonderful Christmas Day thanks to family and friends.  We were so glad to Skype with everyone!

The boys wrote their letter to Santa and left oatmeal chocolate cookies and carrots for him and the reindeer.  Ardan even wanted to go to bed early.

Santa came and left lots of fun things in the boys' stockings and under that tree.  We all had to wait until 7:00AM to check under the tree.  Ardan woke up very early and it was a challenge to keep him occupied until 7, he was just too excited!

Ardan whipped through opening gifts.  Mommy and Daddy could hardly keep up!  Nolan went a much slower pace.  He opened one gift and mainly ate the chocolate he got in his stocking for the first 30 minutes.

Enjoy some Christmas morning videos!  We were so excited to see that Santa had come!  Ardan had been asking for the Pie Face game for months, and he finally got one.  He has played it many times and loves it.  The boys also got a new ride from Nana and Poppop.  Ardan loves to go out and ride it in the driveway at any time of day.  Nolan needs driving lessons.

Happy Christmas Eve

We went over to Hurst House to exchange gifts for the kiddos (and pups) today.
Ardan with his "big kid" Legos! He went for building a train engine first.

And yesterday we made cookies for Santa. He comes tonight, and Ardan is "so excited".

Tacky Christmas Party

Even the dogs got in on the fun of our "Tacky Sweater Christmas Party"!  We had a blast with our
Northwest family and friends.

Ardan's Preschool Christmas Program 2016

Had so much fun at Ardan's preschool Christmas program.  He did awesome singing songs and play their "musical instruments".

Favorite Things

"These are a few of their favorite things..." this December 2016...

ARDAN: Ninja Turtles, counting down to Christmas Day, the color blue, going to the skate park, snow!, riding his bike, playing "ghost" "people" run away (aka chase with a white sheet over one's head)

Favorite thing to say: "I'm so bored." (said with a pathetic tone, and only when he is asked to clean up, or go to bed, or taking a break from screen time)

NOLAN: Olaf, pirates, watching movies with popcorn, playing with the Christmas ornaments that make music, his Nemo pajamas, playing "zombie" "people" run away (aka chase with a zombie twist)

Favorite thing to say: "No, no, NO!" (just like Ardan this phrase comes with asked to take a bed/nap, or taking a break from screen time)  This is not really an improvement from his favorite fall phrase "I don't like that."  Which was literally his response to everything, even though he loved it.  The terrible two's haven't hit him as hard as Ardan's but he is sure making a run for his money on it.

Quick! Before it melts!

The snow we got last night is suppose to melt by this afternoon so the boys had to get in another snowball fight and of course build a snowman this morning.
